Living at Glenella
We make sure living at Glenella is a comfortable and homely time for everyone.
Companionship is key to a happy home and that’s why we believe in strong connections. Visitors are welcome and visits away from the grounds are encouraged and supported, too.
We offer many lifestyle activities on and off-site. Our residents enjoy companionship, flexibility and trust. At all times we provide high quality care and services with an individualised focus in a safe and comfortable environment. Our care includes emotional support for residents and families.
There are many special things about living at Glenella. Find out more from these links:
Leisure and recreational activities are recognised as valuable and an important part of our care routine. There is something for everyone at Glenella.
We have a wonderful lifestyle and activities team that provides a creative and stimulating program of social and community activities such as outings, celebrations, social groups, church visits, religious ceremonies and entertainment. Having our own bus makes it easy to attend many different scheduled activities.
Social independence is encouraged as much as possible, so while we extend an invitation to all residents to participate, we also respect individual wishes not to. The team is also happy to tailor individual programs if that’s preferred. We encourage suggestions for new social events and activities, too.
Importantly, all residents are free to continue all their usual social activities, such as hobbies, visits with friends and family, shopping and going to the movies or clubs, etc.
Getting out and about can provide a new lease on life for anyone. It’s an important part of the activity program, so day trips and other excursions are included on our activities calendar. We are lucky to own and operate our own bus, which gives us complete freedom to facilitate outings. Suggestions of new outings are welcomed. We regularly organise things like shopping days.
We also have staff available to accompany residents on shopping trips if they need a little extra support.
We have 104 rooms at Glenella, including single rooms with either private or shared ensuites and companion rooms. Our companion rooms are often shared by couples or friends who enjoy the company during quiet mornings and evenings. Glenella Care has a total bed capacity of 108.
Our main wish is for every resident to feel relaxed and at home. We make our rooms as comfortable as possible, but we know it’s the personal touches that make all the difference, so we love to see residents bring their favourite mementos, photos and other treasured possessions.
Each room is kept clean and tidy by our trained housekeeping team. Rooms are cleaned daily and spring cleaning is done on a regular basis to keep dust and allergens to a minimum.

The Bradman Wing also has smaller education/computer room, and the Chalet Wing, for residents living with dementia, has an extra activities area on the deck.
